Hi

I have had a chest infection for almost two weeks now, I was put on antibiotics but they seem to have done nothing. My sugar levels are not too bad but i have quite a bit of pain in my chest wall. I am only 27 and feel like i am always unwell as I always have something wrong with me and am off work. Does any one else feel like this?

Perhaps it is time to go back to the Dr. You may have pulled a chest muscle, coughing too much has made your chest hurt or it could be something like pleurisy following the chest infection. We cannot diagnose here but my suggestion would be to present yourself to your G.P. again. It may be that you need another course of antibiotics or further investigations.
Hope this helps and hope you soon feel better.
Catherine.

I've sometimes had a pain in the chest wall from too much coughinf. usually catarrh folooewing a cold.
Sugar levels being ok is a good sign

There have been some fairly unpleasant bugs around in the last couple of years, it's possible that what you had was resistant to the antibiotic they used and you need a different one. It may also be completely unconnected. Either way I suggest a return to the doctor.
