I have a son who is now 4 and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We have been finding it very challenging finding child care during term holidays. Can you please advise us on any possible options. He is unstable with his sugar level. He is currently using CGM and insulin pumps. We have explored nearby holiday camps who have responded saying due to inconsistency in staff, they are not willing to take my son.
We have also asked family and friends if they could help with caring for my son during term holidays. However due to the nature of the condition they do not wish to accept responsibility, which is understandable.

Please advise if there any support available.

Not a lot of advice can be given here other than keep looking, but it’s the way people are going nowadays not wanting to be responsible for someone that is unstable…. We are in a society where you can get sued for doing the right thing and the net result is unwillingness

You’ll have to work on getting unstable to be more stable.. and keep trying to find local private ‘accredited’ child minders
