Hello there :)
Random question!
Is it true that chilies lower your blood sugar by 60%?
As my blood sugar's are always high i think that maybe eating chilies even though i don't like them may keep me my blood sugars at a stable level!

I'd not heard of this until you posted, but I'm googling it, and it seems an interesting avenue to explore, with these claims of up to 60% (which I've also encountered in my online research.)

Thanks for the 'heads-up' and welcome !

Hahaha! I've heard chillies can improve metabolism.(i suppose the reaction to chillies would suggest this) .

My parents are Asians with T2 and curries are their every day diet.

In their case chillies did not bring down their glucose levels down, reducing carbs and taking medications did.

Not sure about that Loran but if they do you need to be very careful being a type 1 on insulin, would it not be possible to increase your insulin to deal with your high bg's rather than eat foods you don't like? Ask your diabetes team for advice on lowering your levels.

Interesting and I love chilies and have them lots. I have never looked to see if I get levels less than I would expect but will do so.
