Might be worth a read for you.
Hi bulkbiker very interesting read I’ve phoned surgery for my fasting blood results won’t give me them till doctor’s have looked at them but it was in the 6s for men and women, on looking at your readings you maintain yours in the 6s so is this deliberate??
My sister who is type1 diabetic for over 50years has had so many problems with blockages in her legs and heart she’s recently had a heart attack and wouldn’t survive a triple heart bypass surgery so they fitted 7 stents in her heart. Now the blockages are stopping her blood supply getting to here feet she now has an ulcer on her heel and is looking to end up with an amputated foot and partial leg. She has only a possible one vein left to graft so get the blood flowing to her foot if that’s blocked then only amputation is left to her damage done over along process of not having right information to have helped her years ago. This site will help so many avoid these complications.K

Thank you! Just what I need as my blood results came through yesterday. My total cholesterol is 5.2 with cholesterol/HDL ratio 4.3. No trigs figure as usual which of course is the important one. It's marked as abnormal, need to speak to doctor. I'm delighted with the result and am braced for the statins and QRisk chat. Now I have a bit more info to state my case.

Interestingly 10 to 14 years ago I had 2 cardiologists. My TC back then was always 7.8 or higher. I was 4 stones heavier. Yet statins weren't ever suggested by either cardiologist.

I'd guess the cardiologists weren't financially rewarded for prescribing?
