Does anyone know if the cholesterol test just measures the chol in the blood at the time of the test or is it like HbA1c which measures over a few months? The reason I ask is that I have lowered my chol from 7.9 down to between 4.9 and 5.2 I am reduced carbs and I also take a plant sterol called Lestrin ,as this is quite expensive I wondered whether to stop it for a while and see what my chol levels do .My next blood tests should be about Sept so should I stop now or wait til nearer the time I dont want high chol levels for too long if it is the Lestrin that is keeping it down Decisions Decisions!!
