Hi for 25 years my cholesterol level had been checked on a yearly basis due to having an under active thyroid, in all that time it has been 3.8. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with type one diabetes last year my cholesterol level moved for the first time ever to 3.9 this year it has been tested again it is now 5.5 my diet is good, I have managed to decrees my insulin by over half and my levels are between 6 and 8. My question is can insulin affect my cholesterol level if not then what can have made it shoot up so high? any answers would be most helpful.
