- rude d/n nurses and being treated like im wierd because im diabetic
hello all . nothing much related to this forum yesterday i took my dad into christies hosp manchester for a operation to remove some cancer for those who dont know its the cancer hospital and world renowed for its treatments, i was there for 8 hours and in that time i saw countless men women /kids wandering around with tubes coming from there noses. mouths and clearly fighting cancer, it was the most humbling moment ive had in my life, to sit amoung these folks i sat there feeling sorry for myself because ive got type 2 wow wee i sure dont feel that way know.the smiles and laughter of these innocent victims was just amazing to me, to listen to a young lady of around 30 telling me that she had double mastectomey and was waiting to find out if it had spread to her kidneys/liver, and she only found out she had cancer because of a pain in her breast one week b4 i came home last night in tears and woke up this morning to live each day as it comes and have no regrets yes control the diabeties but not to let the diabeties control me, whatever you do today make one moment to tell ur family what they mean to you, we lucky in comparrison and i for one am grateful for my time here . sadly cancer knows no age race creed or colour . live your life and make it count before time really does run out . xx
