Two resources that may help over Christmas.
carbs in popular starters/ traditional main course /desserts/snacks and drinks
(do people really eat as few veggies? (3 sprouts) Fortunately, more green veg/cauli etc doesn't add much to the carb count.

Personally, I avoid Christmas cake/pudding/mince pies but that's probably because I don't really enjoy them that much . If the 106g of carb for a portion of Christmas pudding with brandy cream, and the 80g for a couple of mince pies gives you a shock then the second PDF from the IDDT might help a bit. It gives a couple of recipes with reduced carbs (not low)..
It also has a list of carbs in individual Christmas foods and some advice on alcohol for people on insulin and hypo inducing medications.

A handy reference, Christmas dinner is one of the times that I do guesstimate the carb content in the meal as the food is all set out on the table and I refuse to weigh it out on the scales :)
