I want to know what people eat on Christmas day snack wise ? I don't want another year like last year where I didn't eat hardly anything
 
I just eat what I want and then inject a small swimming pools worth of insulin..
 
Cream crackers and Stilton cheese, Turkey sandwich ( must be soft white bread) and a sprinkle of salt, cashew peanuts with a small ish glass of port and whatever else takes my fancy.

Your profile says you're diet only - is that right? If so, you could stick to things like cheese, smoked salmon, nuts, olives, etc. Depending on your BS, you could also allow yourself a small more carby treat

Is there any snack/food in particular you enjoying having then?
 
Interesting question as this is my first Christmas as a diabetic diet controlled. For the roast meal I'll do turkey, cauli cheese low carb, sprouts etc, bacon rolls, chipolatas

Would love low carb Christmas pudding but doubt that's possible, so will research best around - with brandy cream ...

Lots of cheese, cooked meats etc.

I don't want to go off the scale as my BG will be bad for days and I hate that, but I'm also going to be a little relaxed

Ok - all those have carbs in, and, in the case of crisps it's easy to eat more than you planned!

If you decide to have some of all of those, you could spread them out, have small quantities eg a few crisps with non carby cheese, etc. You could also save chocolate treats for times when you're going to take some exercise.

I am Type 1 on insulin, so it's different for me, but I think allowing yourself small amounts of treats is nice at Christmas as long as you keep reasonable control of your blood sugars.
 
I was a good girl last Christmas, not one mince pie and Pret A Manger do great ones. One of the girls who worked there saw me passing the shop on Christmas Eve and gave me a bag of Christmas goodies for free! I ate two chocolate croissants - pure heaven and the fasting reading the following morning was okay!

We normally have a selection of cheeses pickled onions, cream crackers, cold turkey if any left from Christmas dinner and a small amount of pickles or piccalilli and maybe some nuts I prefer Brazil nuts. then there's roast chestnuts though chestnuts are quite high carb. will chance it.
 

Penfold, Christmas pudding has never been my thing, so I haven't looked, although the density of the usual fruit could be a bit of a challenge.

This turned up last year, I think, and it looks fun. I haven't done it, but it looks simple enough and I'm guessing those feeling brave could meddle with it.

This will be my 2nd Christmas as a T2 diet controlled diabetic. We usually start off with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Pre-Diabetes this was with a bagel but not sure about including the bagel this year.

I love cheese so I'll be ensuring I have a selection. The good thing is that it's all MINE as hubby (also T2) can't eat cheese as it makes him sick! I'll probably also have some cashew nuts, some fruit (apples and maybe clementines or satsumas).

Crisps? Well, we've discovered Yushoi Snapea which although not great, are way lower in carbs than Pringles

Hubby will of course buy me some good quality 70% cocoa chocolate - he's incredibly well trained . Gone are the days when he'd buy me a family sized box of Thorntons

I have made a chocolate mousse dessert from the Aldi website. I'll try and find the link . . .
 
I came across packets of Roasted Coconut flakes in Pret this afternoon. Very few carbohydrates so something to nibble at instead of crisps on Christmas Day!

Have you thought of having it with a Blini the mini blini's from Tesco only have 3.1g carbs per mini blini.
 
Chocolate fridge cake for me .. 85% chocolate ( not just at Christmas )
Trifle small portion .. love a bit of trifle

A nice cauliflower cheese with all the roasties ..

Christmas pudding I didn't ever eat it .. prefer a cheese cake
One glass of bolly I only drink at Christmas that one bottle over a couple of days ..
Two much food at Christmas puts me off eating ..

But I think everyone should have a few treats at Christmas time .
