Our bodies are designed to use both fats and carbs for fuelling energy, and it's quite possible to manage very nicely without the carbs, solely relying on dietary and/or body fat. We do need around 120-130 g glucose for certain brain functions, but this will be generated by our liver if there's no consumed carbs available for conversion. It's not necessary to continually stuff your face with fat, you simply need to eat enough for energy needs, or a bit less if you have some surplus weight to lose.
I've lost around 30 kilos weight simply by eating a very low carb diet, and doing very little in the way of exercise. I grew up in the 1940s-50s eating a normal full fat moderate carb diet, and it was actually a recent much higher carb diet that "helped" trigger my T2 diabetes.
