Hello everyone,
I've heard that cinnamon tablets may help to reduce blood glucose levels. I've also read that cinnamon has a certain amount of toxicity which can build up and do damage.... unspecified.
So, my little question is, has anyone taken it? and any effects Thanks

I had it for one month (each day one tablet after lunch). I saw no improvement.

I started taking Cassia cinnamon at the end of January and noticed a slight but significant drop in my average readings. I then read up a bit more about it and Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin which can cause reversible problems with your liver, so I changed to Ceylon cinnamon but my sugars rose again. I then read somewhere (and I can’t find the article now which is annoying me) that to stop coumarin affecting you you can either have a week off every six weeks or have two days off a week to allow coumarin levels to drop. I restarted Cassia and levels dropped again, I opted to not take it at the weekends when I’m more relaxed and my blood sugars tend to be lower anyway. This is all in the context of me being type 2 and my research was obviously regarding type 2, I wonder if there’s been Research on Type 1s anywhere?

it all depends on which kind of cinnamon one uses, the cheapest kind is usually the most effective... the problem is that this kind of cinnamon contains some kind of chemical that is a bit poisonous if eaten in huge amounts ... and that the effective substance seems to be this specific chemical... so eaten in smaller amounts it can be fine but eaten on a daily basis in like a spoonful a day will not be healthy in the long run

Thanks @Rachox, I think we must have been reading the same stuff but I didn't realise it was just relating to T2. I'm going to give it a go
