I asked a question about this in July and I would be interested to see if anyone was going to try this ?

I drink Earl Grey tea which is flavoured with bergamot. I am certain there was a discussion about it, have you tried the search facility?

Thanks for reminding me ... I love Earl Grey and used to drink it a lot years ago but I stopped for some reason.

I've been finding ordinary tea with milk a bit yukky for several months now so have automatically been cutting down on it, I noticed I was still making tea but leaving it to go cold after a few sips. Now I've stopped buying milk altogether, it makes me feel sick.

Instead I buy single cream and I've started drinking coffee again with a splodge of single cream, don't need much cream at all to make it white so it does go a long way. I guzzle the whole cup, never leave a drop. But sometimes I don't feel like coffee so a nice cup of Earl Grey would be nice with a slice of lemon added. Apparently Bergamot is also very good for depression.

Hmmm I'd be a bit careful of this if you are thinking of using it as a "natural" replacement to Simvastatin as in reality Bergamot works to reduce cholesterol in an identical way. Both work by inhibiting something called 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGR) enzyme in your body.

Look here for example http://www.bioportfolio.com/resourc...rgamot-Juice-Flavonoids-Binding-To-The-3.html

The research is titled

On the inhibitor effects of bergamot juice flavonoids binding to the 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGR) enzyme.

Later down the doc states

Simvastatin

A derivative of LOVASTATIN and potent competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase
