'Clicky' joints and painful fingers, anyone?

In the last month or two I've noticed an increasing tendency for my joints to click - knees and knuckles mainly - and my fingers are painful to bend (as in making a fist). Sometimes my fingers are really painful to move, with the pain coming from somewhere just above the knuckles (suggesting it's not arthritis, I hope); other days there's no pain at all. They never hurt until I bend them, BTW, and the pain doesn't linger after I stop moving them.

I can't find any correlation with my BG. Has anyone else had the same problems and found a reason for it all? I noticed a thread which touched on 'clicky joints' and suggested Marmite might be useful in counteracting it.

I'm trying not to be too concerned but to say the least it is disconcerting. As ever, I'd be grateful for any comments.

hi, im not saying this is it but.... my 10 yr old db has just been put on thyroxine for either hyper or hypo thyroidism and she used to have terrible clicking/cracking joints, in the swimming pool you would hear a thud where she would get a crck under the water it was very weird, it never hurt her, since taking the thyroxine it has completely stopped, as i say im not suggesting this is the same, just a thought

Hi I got diagnosed type 2 just diet before Christmas, before then in fact I have noticed in the past couple of years my knuckles/fingers clicked and only recently my knees and elbows, I got told to try Marmite but alas hate it so if any other please let me know.

Been away for a couple of days, so a belated thanks for the replies.

I might try the Marmite (fortunately, I can take it or leave it) and see what happens. I'll also ask the doc when I see him again later this month and if I get to know anything new, I'll let you know.

What rub the Marmite on or eat it...I love the stuff nothing as yummy as a crumpet with Marmite. My 3 children grew up eating Marmite now in their 40's and 50's and they still love it

Sounds like it could be athritis especially as your fingers hurt when you bend them
