Hi folks,

Does anyone have any info about becoming involved in clinical trials?

I try to keep up to date with the latest research and guess they must need people to test on.

While I'd be happy to contribute what I can to the research, if there are any benefit to taking part, even in the short term, then I'd be game.

Thanks,

Ben

I've taken part in research, but not clinical trials. This website tells you where the research units are http://www.ukdrn.org/lrn/default.aspx

I don't expect the research to benefit me much, but hope that it will expand knowledge for the future.

Hi

If you google 'UK clinical trials gateway' that will take you to the website where you can then enter diabetes into the search field and that will bring up all the clinical trials available across the UK and will give details on how to take part in them. There is quite a lot being done for type 2 and type 1.

Hi Ben - are you newly diagnosed ? In the last 3 months ? I am just completing research with the NHS into this and they are still looking for people so can pass on details if you are, otherwise there are other trials available such as effect of sport and exercise on treatment. Well done for wanting to do something that's great.

Thanks for the replies folks.

Juicyj, no, not in the last 3 months - have been diabetic for around 11 years now.

I've already been involved in a clinical trials which all about testing their new drug discovery which help boost the Cardiovascular system. I'm qualified in the requirements since they looking a healthy and fit women. And I'm so glad that I become part of the medical research.
