Intermediate & long acting insulin can be cloudy except Lantus & detmir.
We should roll or shake pen/bottle before use. However there can be some variations & oversights in doing so in routine. Further needles used with pen are of very thin gauge which may restrict delivery of active cloudy insulin. As such, how much variations in delivery can be possible of active insulin at intial & last state of insulin in pens?
Can such variations be a major reason to inject substancial higher delivery of active insulin at later state & get more hypos?
However it appears that we may be benefiting from new very long acting clear insulins--lantus & detmir on this account.
