At the moment I am glucose impaired / type 2 using balanced diet to and exercise to reduce bmi I am due for a fasting blood test next week to see if a hundred pound weight loss has improved my diabetes

Last week my finger prick test on overnight fasting was 5.2 over the weekend I had a bad cold with morning reading jumping to Monday 5.9 Tuesday 6.0 and today 7.0 until yesterday I was taking a flu powder

Assuming these rises were caused by stress of impending doctors appointment and effects of cold I would hope for a return to my normal levels Ive now stopped taking the flu powder has anybody got an educated guess when bg might start to fall back to my norm

The other question I would like to ask the fasting glucose test involves taking blood from a deep vain if I use my meter at the same time can I estimate of what the test bg will be thanks tom

Some flu powder treatments contain sugar in that could possibly have affected you, and also when people get ill there BG levels will rise higher than normal for them.
