Hi all,
Well its the season to get a cold, so I've got one. Long lasting though, started last Monday and its been slowly building with no signs of retreating. So the odd bg measurement showed bgs going up, not surprised at that. But then I was away with work and forgot to get my metformin prescription (Why do they make you request it every month when you have a long term condition??). So I haven't had metformin, just on 500mg 1 a day anyway, since last Wednesday.
As expected I'm getting higher readings, was 5-8, now between 8-12. But unexpectedly, even with the cold, I feel like I have a lot more energy. More than I've had in the whole previous year since diagnosis. So what should I do, should I come off the metformin entirely and enjoy the better energy levels or pursue the goal of normal bgs with the offset of feeling tired all the time? Are levels 8-12 damaging or just the normal for me?
Any thoughts?
