Cold or chest infection does it cause high blood sugar

Hi I currently have a cold or possibly a chest infection will this increase my blood sugar tested there it was 6.2 which is high I'm only pre diabetic got my blood test on Wednesday as well hope it doesn't impact it too much
 
Hi! I hope you feel better soon colds are horrible. My personal experience is that my bloods rise with colds I currently have a pretty bad on and my bloods have risen just keep an eye and be careful what you eat but take some paracetamol to make yourself feel a little more human! Hope you're better soon xx
 
It's not a massive rise as I usually sit in the 5s will it impact my hba1c test much you reckon?
 
Just started Tuesday my chest is starting to hurt when I cough so might be a wee chest infection cheers for the help
 
It should be fine just tell the doctor when you go for your test that you're feeling under the weather and he can make a note about it! No one can help being ill

I had a bad cough for ages, thought nothing of it. Then a few weeks later my bloods became completely erratic, no pattern to them and completely uncontrollable- even my dsn was stumped. Eventually I go to my GP who says a bit of infection in my right lung; he sent me for an ECG- he wasn't too concerned so o was slow to get it done. I wish I'd gone alot sooner because when I had the ECG it showed I'd had a heart attack! I've been put on yet more meds and had a stent fitted in my aorta. Just waiting on aftercare now.
