Colds

I have had a stinking cold for a couple of days now, and thought it might be a good idea to check my BG since i havent all weekend (no gym, no need) - and it was 9.4 :shock: Now thats cos of the cold - i take it i just have to ride it out, as theres not much more i can do about it?

Any infection will affect your blood sugars, so don't be too dispondent - It should return to normal when you shake off your cold.
By the same token your body temperature when you test your blood can make the results suspect.
I am just getting over a heavy cold and my blood levels have been as high as 18! (normally 5.5 ish)

Guys, just a thought. If one is not on medication and happens to get an infection which raises BG, would it be effective to take a temporary dose of Metformin??
