collins little gem carb counter

Hi all,

My carb counter book was delivered today and i have been swatting up for most of the evening. It gives advice on the atkins diet and suggests starting at 20g carb per day and building up by 5g per week until you stop losing weight, then controlling accordingly.

I think for me 20g is a bit low so have set myself a target of 30g per day. I have had to revisit my packed food for work and have swapped my afternoon apple for a small can of tuna - saving loads of carbs, removed my yoghurt etc.

I have previously been sticking to about 60g per day of carbs and thinking I was doing well. Its time to step up a gear i think.

I really am going to give this a go - i have about 3 stone to lose. Does 30g per day sound ok? what is everyone else sticking to?

How does everyone cope with the munchies (usually in the evening for me)?

You may find you have to reduce slowly down to the 30gm.but you will get there ! :D
As for munchies, try some nuts or cheese, ham etc but not too much!
 
You could also try salad type veggie bits like celery sticks or peppers, raw mushroom, radishes etc. :)
