5.1 this morning since coming off metformin numbers have risen slightly but still in normal range so that's ok.

Hi! I am trying to get the morning numbers down. I am usually in the 8's. Recently I've been hearing about people coming off Metformin. I've been on it for years. What am I missing? Why come off it? Thx for input.

@Remedy I have stopped taking metformin at the suggestion of my doctor as he feels I no longer require it., as my last HbA1c level was 39 mmol/mol lower than pre-diabetes level and my BG levels are now in the normal range.

I should add that I have been following a Low Carbohydrate with medium to high fat diet for several months and have also lost a lot of weight this I feel has enabled me to have tight control over blood sugar levels and has enabled me to gain remission of my diabetes as long as I maintain control and don't revert back to what I was eating before. How long this remission will last I don't know forever I hope.
