Hello. This question related to my wife's blood sugar readings. She is in excellent health, aged 61 and weighs 9 stone and has no history of raised sugar levels. I AM INSULIN DEPENDENT-FOR OVER 50 YEARS. About a week ago I tested her sugar level-it was 14.1. This was 10 pm. The following morning at 8.45 her level was 6.1. This pattern has contined for the past few days, inasmuch the levels go into double figures, up to 14, within an hour or so after meals, but drop to about 7.5 by the time the next meal is eaten. My wife was a big chocolate eater up to the time of this incident. She now eats a lowish carbohydrate meal with no snacks in between. Tonight her last meal was 6pm and sugar level went up to 15.1 at 8.55pm. Now at 10.10 pm the level was 10.9. It appears to me the metabolism is acting slowly, and the level tomorrow before breakfast I estimate will be in the normal range. Any ideas please?

I suggest you advise your wife to see a doctor and get a proper test done as soon as possible.
