Conflicted info about how fast Metformin works?

I read here and online that Metformin takes weeks to work but my Dr and also a nurse I spoke to said it works right away? My blood sugar has gotten to normal range on a low carb diet within a week....they said it was because of the meds helping....I thought it was just my diet.
 
@JoeyK - Metformin can take a couple of months to build up in your system to reach it's full effect. But, you may see it has a slight effect on blood sugars initially. Diet and Exercise will have more effect on lowering blood sugars.
