I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope it is in the right place. I have been low/no carbing to get my BG down to within the guidelines which I have done and am starting to experiment with carbs. I've been reading a bit about low GI/GL but it won't let me search the forum to read more about it and I think this is probably the way to go for me.

I've figured out how to work out the GL for food but when people say they eat 80 - 120g of carbs per day where is that figure taken from. Sorry to be dense.

Simply by weighing out the food according to how many carbs you wish to eat, then at the end of the day add-up your total. Check the product info for carb details or alternatively buy yourself a good carb counting book, I can recommend The Calorie, Carb and Fat Bible 2010.
