Confused by testing, what exactly am i looking for?

That's what i was so confused about. Since i started following the Atkins program, I don't eat cereals in any form, but the 'ideal' diet they gave me said muesli with fruit and yoghurt or porridge with fruit for breakfast or wholemeal bread....... so i tried it. I saw from the meter readings that its pretty disastrous for me. And i think it will take many generations to extract a french man from his daily bread! I miss fruit most of all and struggle to eat the right amount of green vegetables, but i am trying, honestly!

If you’re missing fruit, I tolerate a few strawberries or raspberries with double cream or Greek yoghurt as part of a meal. They are the lowest carb fruit and the fat content of the cream or yoghurt helps to slow absorption so reducing any spike in sugars. You could try that and see what your meter says?

Thanks,
I bought raspberries and blackcurrants today, always have cream in fridge as i use it in coffee to give it a bit of substance and keep the calorie and fat count up. I might have that for the 'brunch' tomorrow. and will test before and after to see what it does. Never tested this much before, was told i did not need to. Have a food diary and test strips as have been asked to record everything in the month before the next check up. i am surprised by the fluctuations, especially if i eat what THE EXPERTS tell me to eat.

But do your experts have Type 2 ? We do (or have had..) who to believe?

Remember that putting a LOT of butter on bread reduces the increase in BG.... . (Maybe this is why there is a better shortage in France.)
