I was diagnosed in may as a type 2 diabetic with very high blood sugars, I'm also gluten intolerant and don't have a clue to where to start as to what to and what not to eat? Also I've just bought a SD Codefree monitor. Do I need to eat at same time for each meal every day e.g. 7am etc... (have no idea what I'm doing totally overwhelmed by it all). Any help would be greatly appreciated by a very non technic, clueless diabetic.

No you don't have to eat at the same time every day. You just have to find an eating regime that does not give you high blood sugars. I will tag @daisy1 to start you off. You can also enrol in the free course for low carb at www.diabetes.co.uk/lowcarb and see how it goes.

hi and welcome!

It is really overwhelming at first, but keep reading, and asking questions, and it will all start to make sense.

Have a click on the links in my signature. One will take you to a 60 second tour of how to control blood glucose by avoiding the foods that send blood glucose too high. The other will take you to the Low Carb programme that The Squire just recommended.

Hope that helps. :)
