Confused, Frustrated and stuck!

Salad cream usually has sugar in it - check the label.
Pickles and chutneys have masses of sugar too.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

On the up side, there are some gorgeous non sugary alternatives

Horseradish is amazing with cheese
A thin smear of mustard ( but don't use too much )
Marmite adds bite
Umami paste is a savoury flavour enhancer
Pickled ginger (drain the sweet vinegar off)
Good quality mayo
Cream cheese
Garlic salt
Celery salt

Hope this helps!

Hiya Mrdoosey, I eat one small slice of wholemeal bread for my brekky to dip into my egg and I am OK with that but I try to eat low carb and have about 70 carbs a day, so I don't refuse my self as the saying goes everything in moderation. It takes about of time to get your head round this diabeted thing but you will get there in the end and some days you get your setbacks and anger but you will get there

Cheers both, ive dropped my calorie intake to 1600 a day on myfitnesspal, Im ok most of the time justt he odd occasion i get a bit down and fudged off

Yeah. We all get fudged off at times!

Everyone on t
This site seems to have a different reaction to bread.

Some people have no problem with it, some like Onlyababy eat wholemeal, others find the low carb breads like Burgen and Livlife are better.

I am not good with any grains (wheat, rice, rye...) although can do barley in small quantities.

You will gradually learn what suits you.

If you are a type 2, has anyone suggested you get a blood glucose meter?
It is the only way I know of discovering how your unique body reacts to foods.
The cheapest meter I know of is the Codefree available on Amazon and eBay
