Confused: HbA1C repeat?

Had my HBa1c reults back this morning and it is 48. The GP does not want to see me, just wants to repeat the test in 3 weeks. Do I eat normally or should I eat a "diabetic" diet? Why repeat the test? Thanks in advance x
 
Hi, you're just on the borderline between prediabetes and diabetes. It's common to have a repeat test. Meanwhile I would reduce your sugar and carbohydrate intake in any case.
