Confused with blood sugar levels?!

Hi,

I am not diabetic, however I have checked my blood sugar level last few days (I'm awaiting a blood test to confirm whether I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and hypoglycaemia is linked to pcos) and my results have been as follows :

20/10 10:30 - 6.7 (1.5 hours after food)

19/10 10:16 - 8.4 (1hr after food)

19/10 8:00 - 4.7 (not eaten since previous day)

18/10 21:46 - 3.5 (2 hours after snack)

18/10 13:00 - 5.6 (30 min after lunch)

18/10 10:15 - 3.4 (1 hour after food)

I'm confused at the low readings after eating atleast an hour before and then the high reading an hour after eating . I have done a control test so there's not an issue with the machine.

Can anyone offer advice please ? Thank you.

As you say, most of the readings are fine and the low ones are interesting. I am answering your post because I can achieve low readings some time after eating if I exercise. Nursie has me doing morning walks and three times in the past week I have been below four on my return from my walk which is about two hours after breakfast.

What usually happens next is the the reading slowly rises up to lunchtime which I suppose is the liver helping by supplying glucose.

Two further points:

It is sometimes useful to have a "before" reading as well as a 2hours after reading.

Was any physical activity involved such as my morning walk?

Hi

Thanks for your reply, no no exercise was done during these readings. I don't know whether to mention this to my go or not.

There is absolutely no reason not to mention it to your GP although I suspect it might not result in action. Also the after readings are a lot more interesting if it can be seen how far from the before readings they are. The amount the reading has changed could be helpful.

So far today

9am (fasting) -2.7
930am ate bagel with cheese
10am (30 min after food) - 7.7
1130am (2hr after food) - 3-1
12pm ate crisps
1:30pm (4hr after food) 3.3

Have no idea what this means but iv had 3 low results this morning & am feeling very tired and lethargic.
