Hi All
Friday at last!! I am confused so I have been having the same breakfast all week and been testing before and 2 hours after, all week my fasting levels have been between 5-8-6.8 and two hours after eating is between 5.7-7.5 however this morning it was 8.5??? Why would it jump when I've had exactly the same to eat? I've also been treated recently for a urine/kidney infection and have been for the last year and half prior to diagnosis had reoccurring infections well this is what they tell me but after having about 12 lots of antibiotics it doesn't really get rid of it, do you think it could be something else related to Diabetes, the pain is in my right side above my hip, like a stitch? I have an apt on Monday will speak to the diabetes nurse then?
Thanks
Ceri

Personally, I wouldn't be worrying too much about your 8.5 reading. Did you perform another finger prick test to get a comparison? Remember meter readings can be out by +/-15% of the actual BGL. That's enough to potentially turn your usual range of 5.7-7.5 into 6.5-8.6.

There are also many other contributing factors such as stress, anxiety, temperature, medications, infections, etc. You seem to fall into at least two of these catagories but check in with your DSN anyway :)

Thank you "@"grantgam1337 I suppose I am just very in tune with my body, if I go towards the double figures I can tell and I don't feel right! Cx

I'm always told not to worry about high readings with my diabetic team. Yet when I get to 12/13 I feel well off. It's the same for us all:)
