i just been to my gp and my blood suger level was high 14.4 mmol/L in the morning after not eating anthing . i was given metfomin to take and he took blood samples .im feeling tired should i stay off work untill my levels come down or get my blood test back . im a bit confused to know if i am diabetic my gp didnt tell me he just told me to come back in aweeks time . if he tells me that im diabetic will i get help with dealing with it im not sure what to do at the moment . hope some one can help.
 
Not a medical opinion but,
If you feel up to going to work then go.

When I was diagnosed - long time ago - being at work gave me something else to think about.
I was in an office job, nothing dangerous, so make sure your employer is happy with whatever you will be doing.

This site has a lot of good advice so have a read and ask plenty of questions
 
I agree with getmayhem, if you feel well enough then go to work, but if you are going make sure you let people know your situation so if you do feel unwell they will understand :)

working also means exercise so will be good to get your blood glucose down a little!

when your test results are back they should indicate which type of diabetes you have and the best route to take (medication/lifestyle changes)

If your a bit confused when you see your GP then come back and ask any questions you may have and lots of people will be happy to help :)
