Your food is probably what is raising your bg. Do you have your own test meter?

Thanks for all your answers Ya I think I really need to change doctors as iv been thinking it for awhile now every time I come away from the surgery I'm upset thinking (why didn't I just tell him I needed to see further about things ) I'm r really trying with the diet and I'm happy with my levels compared to wat the were a few weeks ago some say they were not that high but they were going up to 15 and weren't below 11 or 12 for about 2 weeks till I started the meds I happy I joined this group it's good to get other people's views at least it keep me sane (haha ) my levels are 9.2 this morning not bad I downloaded cook book but I can't see me eating anything from it as I a plain eater thanks again for the boost I keep tryingHi Cheerio, my suggestion would be to keep asking your GP for a referral to a consultant or a diabetic specialist unit. It says here http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/doctors/Pages/gp-referrals.aspx that you can insist on a referral but at the same time it says that you need your GP to refer you.
Initially I was diagnosed as T2 because I was quite old but I was sure I wasn't, for one thing I was losing so much weight and I was only 8st to start with! I kept insisting and the specialist immediately diagnosed type1.
It doesn't sound as if you're getting much support and it's difficult to have to fight when you're feeling ill.
Im sure there are others on the forum who will help you and there are really helpful sites like
http://www.inputdiabetes.org.uk but you need to know whether you're T1 or T2. Whichever it is though, diet plays a key part. Personally I find that mainly vegetable meals and fruit works best for me.
Good luck.
