Confusing blood readings

Hi all,

I just started testing last week. My test readings have always been very close to 6.5... regardless of fasting or 2 hours after eating. However, yesterday and today at this time, (mid-afternoon), I got readings of just below 4. In both cases it was 2 hours after eating lunch but also after exercising. Is that good, bad or of no concern either way?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Exercise (for some and that includes me) can drop your BS. Below 4? Some will cheer. What IS critical is how do YOU feel with those numbers.

Clive,
I am on 500mg MetFormin twice a day. Again... just started last week. My readings have been stable all along.

Mike D,
I feel about how I'd expect after exercise, lousy and out of shape!... seriously... a little light-headed but nothing too severe. I was hoping it was the exercise that was lowering my BS and not some medication screw up.

Did I somehow begin this thread wrong? I notice it is not being listed normally

Thanks, Just making sure the reading was not too low for some reason. Seems like my Dr. told me to contact him if my BS got below a certain number... I guess I'm on information overload. Can't remember everything I've been told.

Mike

Be very much aware that SOME people may not be able to tolerate numbers that low .... many can.

I would be very careful with anything below 4.0. My doctor HATES it and wants me in the 5s and even 6s. So back to your GP for advice.

Big numbers are really bad ..... but from where I sit, low low numbers are not that much different. Do what is right for you and stay well.

Good luck

Mike

Remember 4.0 could be 4.8. 5% of readings could be more out!

I had 3.0 once. 3.9 20 seconds later!

Thanks for the input. If I continue to get numbers below 4 I will drop a note to my Dr. via their online message service.

BTW, there sure are a lot of Mikes around here! :D
