Ive got a copy of a letter that was sent to my GP from my Diabetic consultant and I,m very confused ... He tested my GAD and this is the results and some of the things that have been said in the letter, GAD, islet cell and IA-2 antibodies all negative. Then (I,ll limit the exact wording) This maybe because he was diagnosed 43 year ago and is possible I may have anitibody negative Diabetes. Then some history of type 2 in the family Dad and his Sister late on in life) and it mabe a monogenic form of Diabetes He wants to review the circumstances surrounding my initial diagnosis and and lastly mentions that wether or not it might be useful to see if I have any residual beta-cell function. I have not got a clue what this all means so I,m going to do a google search but if any of you have any insight to what all this means please post a reply
