Confusion over Blood Sugars

been type 2 and the fact i get no sodding help from the NHS at all
hi Peeps

According to the info on this site a non
Non-diabetic4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L Before a meal and under 7.8 mmol/L after a meal

my average reading before a meal is 4.8 to 5mmol/L and two hours after is is on average 5.9

i have never gone over 7 ever. i have tested every morning and before and after every meal for the last 2 months

this is really odd dont you think?
 
Yes I don't quite understand it but I think if that's the case for you then your doing really well
 
its like this week ive been doing the low carb. well more like zero carb diet. and my readings are the same if i was to eat my usual diet with bread and potatoes etc.
 
Have you spoken to your gp or nurse
 
Yes, those readings are great but don't become complacent. A non-diabetic will still get those readings without meds and can eat what they like. Even though you have great control, if you went back to your old ways, your readings would quickly start to rise again.
 
i dont know what my readings would have been like before i was diagnosed but i was a ***** for the chocolate. my partner said y HBA1c of 6.8% is not at all surprising but she asked me what would it be now. since i was diagnosed i dont eat sugar at all etc. he wandered if my hab1c was high because of my old ways and would wander if it is much lower now.

i dont speak to my Nurse she is a cow ans was proper vile to me so never see her
 
You have done really well getting your levels stable how's the weight loss going.?

Keep up the good work Turvell. Don't abandon your healthcare team entirely though or you may miss out on other valuable tests for your eyes etc.
 
Well, that's not great news as you will be missing out on various health checks for your eyes, feet etc. Do you get an HbA1C test done somewhere else ?
 
Maybe you ought to get yourself back to the doctors so at least you get the annual health checks ? If your nurse is bad, can you see another one ? Up to you Turvell but regular screening is important I think.

i wanted to move doctors because the nearest one to me is a diabetes specalist centre. and belive it or not im not aloud to go to that one as my post code is not on there list. so i go to a doctors a little further out that is clueless about diabetes. figure that one out lol.
