Hi everyone ive been a type 1 diabetic for 9 years, and i still have trouble controlling my blood sugars.I find it very difficult to eat regular meals, because of this my sugars fluctuate between hypos when i wake up,rising to 26 plus throughout the day.you might all say just eat often and this would solve the problem, but its not that easy for me,having suffered from eating disorder for the past 13years.ive had d.k.a twice(not nice, nearly died!) any body with any ideas or who my b goin through same thing,i would love to hear from you.many thanks xxxx

Hi nicky,
I cannot help you with your particular problem but have included an article that is exploring the link between diabetes and eating disorders. I hope it may be of some help to you.

"Attempts to maintain healthy blood sugars and prevent weight gain may suggest an eating disorder when the disease and it's treatment are to blame."
