Hi All

I'm new to this site, and wanted to know what does E11 mean?, there have been times when I test my blood and a E11 message pops up.

Also I've been a diabetic for a year, first of all I was type 1, then my doc put me on Metformin. I use to be a gym member but my job had changed, hence why I couldn't get to the gym. Just recently I have lost a stone and a half, and it isn't exercise, my readings have been high, my food is clean, and try to figure out what is going on. I will be going to see my Doc very soon, just wandered if anyone had experience this.

It seems to be a generic code for any bad test:

An E11 Code has several potential causes, which may include the following:

1. Meter/strip was bumped or jarred during testing.

2. A previously used strip may have been inserted.

3. Blood may have been applied over the vent hole on top of the test strip.

4. An expired strip may have been used.

5. The test strip may have been stored outside the original bottle or the bottle was left open for several weeks.

6. The control solution may have been applied to the skin and then to the test strip. Do not test control solution applied to any surface that is not specified. It is recommended to squeeze a small drop of control solution onto a clean non-absorbent surface (such as a piece of wax paper). Test control solution immediately after dispensing onto proper surface.

What to do:

Check the expiration date on the test strip bottle to make sure the strips have not expired.

Be sure to not bump or shake the meter or strip while the meter is counting down.

Be sure to use the correct testing technique with a new test strip
