Hey girls,

I've been having a few issues with the contraceptive pill affecting my blood sugars, and as this is the third one i've tried (1st made me sick, 2nd was affected by other tablet, 3 rd affects my BS!) I was considering getting the implant. I was wondering if anyone had experienced any diabeted related issues with it, as its a bit more permanent than taking tablets!
Any advice would be great:)

Thanks

Naomi

Hi
Have you tried cerezette?
I am on that, it is excellent, i have one period a year if i am lucky! No sickness or side effects, Does not affect my blood sugar,
I find it works perfect!
It is the only pill that i have not had any sort of side effects with!
Hope this helps you in some way!
Poor you, I found the implant made me very ill! I ended up having to have op to remove it as it made me very ill!

hey Nomi!

God, sometimes it's hard being a girl! I get the contraceptive injection depo provera every 12 weeks and I haven't had any diabetes (or non-diabetes) related problems with it (been getting it for 4 years now and I really love it). Dosen't affect my bs at all and in fact has eliminated all the not so nice things like tummy pains, mood swings etc. But we're all different so go and have a chat with a nurse so see what they suggest. :D

Kate.
