Am 55 year old male recreational road/mountain biker. Type 1 for 8 years, tight control, Novarapid and Humulin I insulin profile. HBA1C results between 6 and 7. However, recent results (last 6 months) 5am to 9am are high and although researching Dawn phenomenon, wake up hormones etc etc have no good conclusions. Looking to discuss. Any suggestions anyone?

What are your pre-bed bg levels like and are you testing through the night to see if your bg levels are steadily climbing?

Hi noblehead thanks for replying. Usually 7 before bed. In range during night when I've tested...occasionally a bit lower after gym and cycling to work. Have tried taking 1 unit novarapid after morning ride to work 45mins without carbohydrates. Also put back humulin to 10pm10am . So far better results around 7.5
