I've read a lot about the effects of diabetes, greater risk of heart disease, stroke, neuropathy etc.
My question is, if I manage to control my BG within non-diabetic levels constantly, without medication (effectively remission, but I understand some people prefer the term controlled). Will the risk of these effects be the same as a non-diabetic or is there still slow healing from cuts etc?
From my fairly extensive reading uncontrolled/mistreated T2 with its elevated blood sugars is what causes these issues so with "normalised" blood sugar levels I can't see any reason/mechanism why you would be more susceptible to any of the problems you have listed. Hence my efforts to keep BG as low as humanly possible.
Well if it can reverse complications - which it can - then it can most certainly prevent them. With the caveat that the blood glucose concentration is achieved naturally and without pharmaceutical intervention. Otherwise apparently the outcomes are statistically not quite so positive.
Hi I am checking my blood sugar and not taking tablets just changing diet it does go high then low carb seem to go average what is the number mmol is when I would be taking tablets it goes up and down is that a bad thing

I agree with the other posts. Those of us who control our BS within a sensible range are unlikely to suffer the bad long-term conditions of a badly controlled diabetic.
