We've had a halogen for years, and I never switch the big gas oven on nowadays. The halogen can do anything a normal oven can do, plus grilling, some foods can cook from frozen too (but be careful to check each recipe before trying that!) The advantages to me are that it - lives on countertop (no bending when my back won't bend) - i can see the food cooking through the glass sides - no pre-heating, and it cooks more quickly than a conventional oven - perfect size for just the two of us - you can wash it in the kitchen sink - it cost me £40 There are millions of halogen oven recipes out there, on you tube and designated sites and even forums. Just google.
