Hello, Ive been type one for 1 year now and have come down with my first cold/cough and its really raised my bs levels. For a few weeks before I had managed to keep my bs readings in the 5s and 6s. but since having this cold its gone upto 20. I have tried to give myself correction doses for this but what ever I do doesn't seem enough, im giving twice as much correction as I would normally. Should I be worried as I am or should I not worry as as soon as my colds gone my levels should go backto normal? This is my first illness since diagnosis. Am checking my ketones which are up a little but not much.
thanks

It is certainly a problem, how I have tackled this is I have kept records every time I have been ill (which is not to many) these records has enabled to treat early before my B/S getting out of hand.I hope this is of help to you.

thanks, didn't think of sick day rules as its only a cold but it makes sense now you've mentioned them.
