Could be diabetic

Hi everyone,

I went to the doctor a couple of days ago and the practice nurse did a blood sugar level test. I hadn't eaten for 4 hours but the test said my blood sugar level was 15.1 I have since had blood tests done and am waiting to see if I have diabetes. How likely is this do you think?

Hi! Just had another post like yours. Not a doctor, but I think it's extremely likely that you're diabetic. Don't panic though, Come back here when (if) you're diagnosed and you'll get loads of good advice to help you control it. Good luck!
 
Thanks Grazer :) My Dad has diabetes so I have some experience of it (although I am adopted so not necessarily hereditary). Will just have to wait and see I guess although thinking about it I have had other symptoms over the past few months - being thirsty, tired and blurred vision.

Will definitely be using the site if/when it is confirmed :D

Welcome to the site.
With the readings you are explaining and especially after not eating for four hours, i think the chance of (if) the doctor will say you have diabetes. But please don't despair come back to us after you get the results and i am sure we can help to quide you.
Just remember we are not doctors, we all go by our own experiences.
I am a Type 1 and have been for 36yrs and i am now 42yrs.
