Could I be diabetic?

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me.
I been having dizzy and lightheadedness spells for the past week. My feet feel very cold and clammy and i have this pins and needles sensation over my body. I also have a dry mouth which only started today. I am so worried.
I have a GPs appointment on 16th April to discuss this - I feel I cannot wait until then. Called the Surgery today to be told call back in the morning.
I am so panicky - I feel I may have diabetes.
Any advice anyone?

Hi

If your gp cant squeeze you in tomorrow I would recomend nipping to your local loyds for a test its where I got mine done and can certainly help with a diagnosis. If you want to do that best bet is to not eat anything after say 10pm tonight and visit them after 10 tomorrow so you can advise them you have fasted or they will just tell you to go fast anyway.

Try not to worry to much about possible diabetes til you have had your tests and seen a doc. Sounds hard but if you start reading into it you will worry yourself deeper.

Thankyou so much. I am sitting here just crying and feeling very isolated. The GPs receptionist was very off-hand even when I said that I felt I was going to pass out.
Should I call Lloyds to make an appointment or is it a walk-in service.

Thankyou once again!

Hi

I just walked in the first day and they said just pop in tomorrow once you havent eaten for 12 hours. So just take a trip in and if they say fast just let them know its done.

But untill then try not to worry and relax. Try drink water instead of cofee etc tonight. Most of the time I phone my gp the receptionist is pretty grumpy aswell but when you see how busy they are all day its to be expected heh.

If at any point you feel as though your ready to pass out or feel very ill I would certainly give nhs24 a ring or scottish/english version. Or even visit A&E

Glad you got to see your GP. Try not to worry until you have your results. Having a dodgy thyroid isn't nice either. I have an under active and type 2 diabetes.

Good that you got to see the doctor so quickly. Hopefully the blood test will get to the root cause for you. Keep us updated and dont worry untill then :)
