Hi
Could any of you help? I live in liverpool ( UK ) but currently in the USA in NY & Boston.
My BS is so high since arriving even though we are walking for hrs PD. How does counting carbs differ from the UK? Do I deduct anything from the total carbs on the back of packaging ( think I read this ) ?
I normally have bloods no higher than 5 - 8 each day. Sorry to be a bother and ask but any ideas will help ? Thank you in advance.
In the UK the carbs shown are net, that is minus fibre. In the US the total carbs include the fibre, so you should be able to deduct them from the count.
I can't explain why your blood glucose should be high though.
Are you eating more than usual and adjusting insulin (sorry for the basic questions)?
Was your insulin in hand luggage not the hold?
Do you have a spare vial to try instead?
