Think that is quite unfair. If it's available for 1, it should be available for all.
Just so you don't feel totally left out , there are areas in England and Wales where Tresiba isn't being prescribed either because of cost .It's a postcode lottery

Expected getting back into the swing of things would be really difficult but seem to have settled quite well.
Went out for lunch and had to check bg and take novorapid, got a few dodgy stares and 1 woman asked why I didnt go into the toilet or take injection before I left home, was in quite a bad mood and she got shouted at,
'Should a disabled person feel bad for being out in a wheelchair in public? Why do breast feeding mothers not feed the child before leaving the house?? NO so why the f**k should I hide away in the toilet???'
I actually got myself quite annoyed but at least it shut her up and I felt better.
Ha ha. The only negative comments I've had was a guy in a pub in rural Leicestershire who objected to the beeps and whirrs my meter makes when I was testing at a table just before Sunday lunch some years ago. I hadn't been on insulin long and was venturing out to eat with my partner in a 'safe' environment for the first time. I was so embarrassed. He was in a crowd of about 10 people. He had his back to us and was going on about people using mobile phones while they're eating. I said loudly 'Yes, mobiles can be annoying, but the sounds you can hear are my diabetes blood tester. I'm about to inject insulin as I do before every meal, so anyone who doesn't like injections should look away now.' Silence and embarrassed faces all round. 'There, I've finished. You can continue your conversations now.'
My partner clapped and most of the pub joined in.
I was actually very embarrassed but I'll never allow anyone to put me down like that again.

I have never seen a pump so dont know what it sounds like but HATE people who jump to conclusions about things they know nothing about.
When I was younger, my big sister (also diabetic) was called a junkie by someone as she had to take her injection when she was out.
My sister is far from violent but actually punched the girl, I would have done the exact same in her position.
If you know nothing about it, either ask or keep your nose out of other peoples business.
Had people ask me what the inkection was for so I sat and explained to them but to just make assumptions bugs the life out of me.

HahahahaI'd have to shave mine to get a cannula to stick.
Thank you! Saves me searching the internet. How often do you need to change the canula, etc? Sorry for the questions. X
I do wonder about men having sets stuck to skin!! Or hair.. Must be like waxing legs!!! Oouch!!!
Really it would be more comfortable if I had a bit more fat. This being discusssd in another thread at the moment!! -lol!! Normally ok...i can't use sets in my stomach as my stomach is too muscly and no fat....
Some ladies can use boobs.. But haven't got much of them either!!
They don't normally hurt for most people. I think leaner people have more problems as we have less skin area to use??
Worst thing is getting them off but there is spray to use and a soak in bath helps enormously...
Doctor told me today that Levemir tends to only be given to people who are EXTREMELY sporty for tighter control!!
Totally baffled me there! Then again, with readings a bit on the higjer sode, they did also tell me to reduce my Lantus from 26 to 24, 2 weeks ago it was at 28 units and I wasnt too fussed about taking it down to 26 but dropping it again when my readings are up a bit, erm, no love, maybe when readings are 'normal' again lol.
They actually are very good at making my blood boil.
