Crazy low blood sugars

My daughter is on a 1:13 ratio. The last two lunch times at school have been a nightmare. I gave her the usual dose and they had an extended lunch time she went crazy had a low and I spent all afternoon trying to keep her up above 4
Today decided that as pe I would give the recommended 1 unit less of insulin and even then before she started she was only 4.8. So the school gave her 3 extra dextrose tablets. Ten minutes later still 3.9. Two chocolate fingers given and then finally spent the rest of the afternoon on a steady 5. The upshot being as she was only 4 before pe she didn't actually do anything in pe so basically did not burn any of the excess sugar off and we sat in the classroom and read.
My question being. Where did all the sugar go? Is this because of the weather being cold? She does not complain of being cold. She must have had 20 carbs floating around without any insulin without doing anything.

Any thoughts?

Best to have a word with your daughters diabetes team with a view to changing her insulin doses, my guess is her background (basal insulin) needs adjusting but her DSN will advise further.

Best to speak to the team but I'm the same, been on a similar basal rate for ages and from last Sunday I've had to reduce my insulin drastically. I think it's to do with weather/winter but can't be sure. Will probably need to reduce again tonight and tomorrow the way things are looking,
