Ok....Hi All.
New to this diagnosed 10 days ago, T2 put straight on meds, must admit quick response, appointment next day with diabetes nurse. Work as a live in care for a client with dementia 2 week shifts, so back to work 2 days after diagnosis.
Still in shock, I have had crohns disease for 30 years and have been off Meds for years, if I don't know what i can't tolerate by now I never will, diagnosed with gout 3 years ago, medicated and under control. now diabetes, how do I manage a diet for that with the other diet controlled things, can't tolerate fat or much meat or dairy (grilled cheese)
so I eat..................... pasta, rice, jacket potatoes.
have another appointment with diabetes nurse day after I finish work 10th September. had to ring 111 couple of nights ago.sweating feeling sick shaking, headache felt really ill, told it sounded like a hypo and had to eat, I thought you didn't have hypo's with type 2 none insulin.
Going to ask for a blood monitoring unit, I need help to understand what food does to me.
I am confused at all the differing info I am reading, and hope this site can help guide me on the right path.
ok I've rambled enough now, I look forward to hearing from you all.
