You're not sounding stupid! Bolus is the short acting, basal the long acting.

And pumpers often say 'bolus' instead of 'inject'.

I was prescribed Gabapentin among a long list of other drugs to try to control the nerve pains I get from arthritis of the lower spine, it didnt work for me and I was transferred on to other drugs,,,,,,,, many other drugs.

But for the 2 or 3 weeks that I was taking it I never noticed any rise in bg levels or spikes but then tea and coffee does nothing to me bg levels either, but that could just be me.
