Cure For Type 1? - Auckland Island Pigs

Hi,

I am not sure how common this story is in the UK but it is absolutely fascinating as well as being true. Some of the tests that have been done have shown some Type 1's have been able to live without injections for months at a time. There is some information about Dr Bob Elliot and the Auckland pigs on these pages here. Hope for the future maybe?

There was a documentary on the satellite channel PBS america last year about this. It was very interesting and appeared to work very well for those who were undertaking the trial. It was called
"Xeno: Diabetes, Pigs and People"
